Ken Aldcroft’s Convergence Ensemble Trolleys (Trio)

Guitarist Ken Aldcroft is heavily involved in the local improv scene and has an extensive discography with various projects. His Convergence Ensemble quintet, while rooted in free jazz, has deep blues overtones that make it more accessible to the casual listener.

In general, there’s a mellow and relaxed feel to the jams, even when they’re going out. It’s a strong band of creative players interested in experimental music but still well grounded in the roots of jazz.
